Carly's on an adventure this summer - acting as a guide at Dinosaur Provincial Park, near Brooks, Alberta. While it isn't ideal that she's as far away as she is - it does provide a good excuse to camping. :) I went last week - and got to see where she's at and a bit of a sneak peak of the work she'll be doing. I thought you might like to see some of the photos. I am going again soon with my niece and nephew, so I am sure there will be more soon.
If you haven't been - it's a very unique place. It's even a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can watch their podcast promo videos (which are kind of hilarious). One of the funny things is the park staff you see while Brad is talking, leading programs - is someone who is currently one of my supervisors with the City. Hee hee
Arriving the prairies are flat. Perfectly flat. Then you go down this hill - and it appears you have time warped somewhere completely different. It's arid and hilly. There are hoodoos and bush sage. Pretty cool. Anyway, here are some of my photos. Have a look!
Down by Sandhill Creek
The water's certainly silty - but that didn't stop the pup from wanting to dive in and cool off.
Lichen!
Carly has some awesome sunset pictures, but so far, this is all I have...
From the lookout
Doesn't that make you want to visit? or at least hug her?
The clouds were incredible the entire time I was there. I need to learn more about my camera to really be able to show off how cool clouds can look.
Bones! Well... this one is a copy - but you can go see the real one too...
Anyway - if you want to go visit - and want a tag along, I think I am up for any excuse to go. :) Have a lovely day!
peace to you~
